What is Snickers Slice?
Snickers Slice is a fun twist on the classic childhood favourite, Mars Bar Slice. It’s made with melted Snickers bars, butter, and puffed rice cereal, topped with a layer of chocolate – chewy, crunchy, and completely delicious. The bonus? Unlike many Mars bars, Snickers bars are gluten-free in many countries (including Australia), making this a great alternative for coeliac families or anyone avoiding gluten. Just be sure to check the label where you live, as ingredients can vary by region.

Storage Tips
This slice can be made ahead of time, and keeps well in the fridge for up to a week. To freeze, place slices between layers of baking paper in an airtight container. They don’t take long at all to defrost!
How to make Snickers Slice
- Step 1: Line a 20x20cm (8×8 inch) square slice pan with baking paper.
- Step 2: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped Snickers bars and butter together. Stir regularly until smooth and well combined.
- Step 3: Remove from heat. Stir in the puffed rice until every piece is well coated.
- Step 4: Press the mixture into the prepared pan, using the back of a spoon or spatula to smooth and flatten the top.
- Step 5: Melt the chocolate in the microwave in short bursts (stirring in between) or using a double boiler. Pour over the slice and spread evenly.
- Step 6: Top with extra sliced Snickers if desired. Place the pan in the fridge for 1–2 hours or until set.
- Step 7: Once firm, slice into squares and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
