Gluten-Free Snickers Slice

What is Snickers Slice?

Snickers Slice is a fun twist on the classic childhood favourite, Mars Bar Slice. It’s made with melted Snickers bars, butter, and puffed rice cereal, topped with a layer of chocolate – chewy, crunchy, and completely delicious. The bonus? Unlike many Mars bars, Snickers bars are gluten-free in many countries (including Australia), making this a great alternative for coeliac families or anyone avoiding gluten. Just be sure to check the label where you live, as ingredients can vary by region.

Storage Tips

This slice can be made ahead of time, and keeps well in the fridge for up to a week. To freeze, place slices between layers of baking paper in an airtight container. They don’t take long at all to defrost!

Notes and Variations

Puffed rice: Be sure to use certified gluten-free puffed rice cereal, as some brands may contain gluten due to processing. I’ve used Kellogg’s Gluten Free Rice Bubbles.

Dairy-free option: Try using dairy-free chocolate and vegan butter alternatives, though the texture may vary slightly.

Nut-free version: For those with nut restrictions, swap Snickers for a nut-free caramel chocolate bar (and always check for gluten-free labels).
