Gluten-Free French Onion Soup Mix

This easy Gluten-Free French Onion Soup Mix is made with dried onion flakes, garlic and pantry spices. Use it to replace store-bought packets in dips, slow cooker meals, casseroles and more.

Ingredients 

  • cups dried onion flakes
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 4 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 2 teaspoons celery salt
  • 2 teaspoons fine salt
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl.
  • Stir well until evenly combined.
  • Transfer to an airtight jar.
  • Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Notes

  • 3 tablespoons equals one standard soup mix packet (35 - 40g / 1.2 - 1.4 oz).
  • Do not substitute onion flakes for onion powder - the flakes provide necessary texture and flavour.
  • For a finer texture for use in a particular recipe, you can pulse the mix briefly in a food processor.
